Test Preparation
Students and families are assisted in strategically selecting the standardized test that best suits the student’s strengths. Each student then receives personalized, one-on-one tutoring for the standardized test of their choice (PSAT / SAT / ACT).
Application Process
Students become aware of the various components that comprise a complete application and how/when these items are required to be submitted. Essential parts of this process include strategically selecting high school courses, crafting a balanced college list based on all relevant factors, and effectively demonstrating their interest in the colleges to which they will apply. We manage the process to minimize potential parent/child tensions.
Essays
Our encouraging, exploratory, and revealing process is designed to allow students to craft a personal statement that accentuates their overall application. Students are also guided in writing any additional essays in order to truly set them
apart from other applicants.
Additional Services
General Tutoring
As experienced educators with decades of teaching experience in a variety of settings, we support students with study skills, interview skills, executive functioning coaching and time management as needed. These services can be incorporated into our hourly sessions,
or as stand-alone options.
Scholarship Assistance
Upon request, we provide assistance and resources for navigating the scholarship, financial aid, award letters, and overall tuition processes.
Private School Application Process
We provide guidance and support to parents and students in their journey to private K-12 schools. Drawing on our years of experience with a national placement organization, we offer SSAT & ISEE tutoring; meaningful school research and list crafting; guidance and practice for interviews that don’t appear to be rehearsed; and writing short answer and long-form essays that highlight both the student’s skill as well as their unique personality.
Effective Study Skills
Solid study skills and work habits will distinguish a smart student from one who actually excels in high school, college, and beyond. As your child grows, knowing and using proven study habits will make the difference between earning A’s and struggling to earn B’s. We offer training in these skills for students as they enter 9th grade to ease their transition into high school.
The Cost of a Guided Journey
As a professional IEC, transparent pricing is one of our values. Our clients are not committed to any service packages or any long-term contracts. Either the client or Simpson Educational Consulting is free to terminate service at any time in the journey.

Each session that we meet is 1 hour in length. Invoices are sent after each session at the rate of $150 per hour.
It is truly that straightforward. We know life is busy, no need for this to be complicated!
