6. Craft a journey that is best suited to the individual student. Whether they are organized and self-motivated, or not, we will ensure that their journey is one that is customized toward their needs and goals.
Our Company
Simpson Educational Consulting, LLC is a registered Limited Liability Company in the state of Georgia. We provide services to students throughout the United States as well as internationally.
SEC provides tutoring and coaching services for college preparation in partnership with the student and parent/guardian. Our goal is to empower students with knowledge, skills and clarity to successfully navigate the admissions process and to go on to having an empowered and successful transition to college.
Meet Sonia Simpson
With over 25 years of experience as an Educator, I have a BA in Child Development from Spelman College and a MA in Curriculum Development from Clark Atlanta University.
By the age of 7, I lived in three countries and had the benefit of becoming fluent in Spanish and starting my schooling in the Caribbean. This foundation allowed me to work with students from all walks of life from Boston, to Compton, to St. Vincent, to Charlotte, to Atlanta. I’m grateful for all of my experiences because today I possess a level of cultural competency that serves me well in a myriad of communities. The one common thread that focused me is the belief that education can transform lives and help individuals attain dreams.
As a teacher, I delighted in preparing middle schoolers for the “next level” by imbuing in them a number of executive functioning skills and a curiosity about the living world we all occupy.
Whether I’m working with students, their parents, teachers or administrators, my carefully crafted approach puts them at ease with accomplishing seemingly insurmountable tasks and brings them a sense of confidence. This approach grew from working as a classroom teacher for years and from counseling hundreds of nervous and excited families on how to confidently navigate personal statements, test preparation, interviews, school research, and campus interactions.
