Fall of Sophomore Year

Now that you’ve used freshman year to learn how to be a high school student, it’s time to really dig into your personal interests and extracurricular activities. Colleges love to see a student with interests and evidence that you are pursuing them. Don’t worry, there are no specific activities that you must include, but it helps to be intentional with your extracurricular, service or work experiences.

While you increase your out-of-class engagement, don’t forget about the most important part of your future applications: your transcript! Using proven study skills, note-taking, and class engagement strategies will make all the difference in aiming for your highest grades yet.

We provide our sophomores with advice on intentionally engaging in extracurricular, service or work experiences to make the biggest impact on the future college app’s. When needed, we also diagnose and coach our students out of sticky academic situations by ensuring the usage of evidence-based study and executive functioning skills.

About

My name is Alexa Young

Our daughter was able to self-advocate and work independently with the colleges she was considering. Based on your guidance, she reached out to schools, made contact with students, and asked the really good questions during the tours. She did everything necessary to demonstrate interest and was accepted where many of her classmates did not, which was eye-opening for her and boosted her confidence when she was completely doubting herself. She ended up choosing a school that met all of her needs and checks all of what was on her list. I can tell she is happy and confident about her decision.
